The Geranium Festival is a one day arts and crafts festival sponsored by the Lions Club of McDonough. For the last 30 years the festival has been held on the third Saturday in May on and around the courthouse square in McDonough. This year, the 31st annual Geranium Festival is scheduled for Saturday, May 17th, 2008 from 9am - 5pm.
All proceeds from the festival go to supporting local non profit organizations as well as Lions' International sponsored state and national programs. The primary goal of the International Lions Club is the prevention of blindness and assistance with obtaining glasses and eye exams.
We have a variety of vendor booths, jewelry, floral, wood, yard art, clothing, bath products, candles and more. We require that vendors make their items for sale. We also have a variety of food concessions, most of which are operated by local non profit groups (such as schools & churches) as a fundraiser.
The festival is a very popular community event in our region with estimated attendance at 25,000. There will be a stage with a DJ and live entertainment throughout the day. A local radio station, WMVV, New Life FM, will be on hand to broadcast live.
The festival is located on and around the courthouse square in McDonough, Georgia. We offer a complimentary shuttle to the festival from parking at Henry County High school.
Handicapped parking is located off the downtown McDonough Square on Highway 20/ Hampton Street. |
